Branimir Jovanović is an economist at the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, covering the Western Balkans. Before joining the Institute, he was an adviser to the Minister of Finance of North Macedonia (2017–2019) and a researcher at the National Bank of North Macedonia (2007–2015).  He holds a PhD from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in Italy and an MSc from Staffordshire University in the UK.
