Shpend Emini is the Executive Director of the Democracy for Development Institute (D4D), a think tank based in Pristina. He joined Democracy for Development Institute (D4D) in 2010, initially as program manager and later as fundraising manager and deputy director. Prior to his engagement with D4D, he worked for Project on Ethnic Relations (PER), US based organization focused on improving inter-ethnic relations in Kosovo and for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Kosovo (2001-2005) managing different projects and between 2006-2009 in Hungary, where he coordinated projects in Central Europe and the southern Caucasus. He also served in short term assessment missions in Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro. Between 2014-2017 he served as member of the Council for Implementation of the Government Strategy for Cooperation with Civil Society, representing civil society. He holds an MA in Management and bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration. Apart from his native language Albanian, he also speaks English, Turkish and Serbian.
