President of the International Advisory Committee, Belgrade Centre for Security Policy

Srđan Cvijić (PhD, European University Institute, Florence) is president of the International Advisory Committee of the Belgrade Centre for Security Policy. Previously he worked as a Senior Policy Analyst on EU external relations with the Open Society European Policy Institute in Brussels. Since 2015, he has been engaged in advocacy in the field of rights, values, and international law in EU external policies, particularly concerning the use of armed drones, as well as broader topics under the EU Strategic Framework for Human Rights and Democracy. Additionally, he conducts analysis and EU advocacy with regard to the Western Balkans, Turkey, EU enlargement negotiations, Middle East, North Africa and the European Neighborhood Policy. He holds a master’s degree in international relations and European studies from the Central European University in Budapest.

Before joining the Open Society Foundations, he worked with the Association of Local Democracy Agencies, European Policy Centre, NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe, and in the diplomatic service of the Republic of Serbia.
